Search Engine Optimization

Hey everyone, welcome back to this week's blogs, For this week's blog, I will be giving advice to companies on how they can improve website traffic with reference to proven tips that have boosted website rankings. As we know today, the internet is what most people go to for information, shopping, browsing, and much more, so a good website is essential to a business’s success. My advice to companies to improve website traffic is: 1.        Improve Loading Speed According to a study, pages at the top of Google ranking, load significantly faster than those at the bottom. As we all experience when searching on Google if something doesn’t open quickly, we usually give up and find a different website. 2.       Optimize your content with Keywords. Why Companies Often Fail with Information Systems Implementation

Hey guys on this week's blog i will be talking about why companies often fail with information system implementation. Information System implementation is a massive task for any company to undertake, it requires good management, money, planning, and a lot more this is why companies often struggle when implementing information systems.

Poor Management
Poor Management is one of the main contributing factors to why companies fail with the implementation process. Introducing a new system or upgrading an old one is a timely process and a huge undertaken of transferring information from one system to another this is why proper management is essential in this process. Management has to manage the change, by training employees who might not want the change but also have to meet deadlines for the company. While doing this they also have to handle their day-to-day activities. This can cause tension in the workplace and the implementation process can often fall at this hurdle.

The Project is Too Big
Often companies fail to implement an information system because the project is just too big of an undertaken for the company. They try to implement a big system in too short of a time frame and the company just can't handle the workload of implementing the information system. Since 1998, the US Navy has lost over 1 billion dollars in implementing four ERP systems that failed.

Going over Budget
Implementing information systems is a massive financial burden on a company as the system itself is costly but the day-to-day running, IT teams, hiring specialists, maintaining it, and also license fees associated with running the system and adding users. Sainsbury's in the UK embarked on a project of implementing an automated fulfillment system in their distribution center. From the initial installation in 2003, there were horrendous errors in reading barcodes. Two years later, they scraped the entire project, writing off over 150 billion pounds in IT costs.

Resistant to Change
When you are in a job for a few years and are comfortable in what you do, employees tend to neglect change in exchange for comfort. Implementing a new system can be a massive change for employees day to day-to-day work, this can cause employees to become unhappy and as a result, be less productive or leave the company.
